This week's focus: Prayer
Prayer is defined as:
- an address (such as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought
- an evolving means of interacting with God, most frequently through a spontaneous, individual, unorganized form of petitioning and/or thanking
Lord, we come to You with open hearts and ask that You speak to our spirits with words of wisdom and direction, that we may know how You wish for us to pray. Help Your humble servants to speak words of praise and adoration, for You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Teach us, Lord, that we may know You and the power of your resurrection. Fill us with Your presence and forgive our shortcomings and sinful ways. Lead us, Lord, to a higher place, that You might be lifted up.
Luke 11:1-4 (KJV)
And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
- We’ve created a number of prayer guides for our elected officials, for the election, and for praying for the sanctity of life. View and download them here.
- Pray for students, teachers, and parents across the country as school is beginning or getting ready to begin in the next few weeks. With so many schools facing various challenges with in-person and online learning variables, pray for wisdom, discernment, and patience.
We want to see God honored in America, and we pray for an unprecedented spiritual awakening.
